Thrist Of knowledge How much Good.......

Another Bogus Thought :D

The burning desire to acquire , assimilate and utilize knowledge will never create unhappiness. It is an addiction in good sense. You start craving for knowledge and do not leave any source unturned to acquire it. However acquiring knowledge should be channelized , focused and directional. Such knowledge should serve a purpose, it should have a objective. It may be making you and people around you wise , it could be adding spiritual maturity to you or it could be for some nobel cause like reducing human pain , agony and frustrations.

Once you get habituated to this insatiable thrust for knowledge , all the happiness from sensory perceptions become dwarf against the happiness of getting knowledge. It raises your maturity and you become a very strong person in terms of your logical and conceptual views.

Part of the reason we are here is to gain knowledge. You can see that in child development. Our bodies naturally "put off" developing most things, like being able to reproduce, for a much longer portion of our lives than any other creature on this earth. During this time, we do a large amount of learning. We always need to learn and we do, even if we are not trying to. You make a mistake in life, you try to avoid it again.

Our search for knowledge can create unhappiness for us but that is just another way for us to learn. I recently went through the second greatest failure of my life so far and I learned way more from the experiences than I ever could have suspected. I was the most depressed I had ever been and I was learning extremely well what not to do. I have hope now that I can correct my failure and I know that I would not trade the experience for almost anything.

Knowledge can give us the greatest joy and sorrow. Through both, we are able to learn better how we are to live. We are able to find happiness in this life and be able to fully appreciate it.

I think our thirst for knowledge is very good for us. Where it might become problematic is when we realize the need to know, but become frustrated over either not being able to gain knowledge or retain it adequately. That would be where the unhappiness steps in.

For example, if we are given opportunities to learn and grow throughout our lives, we are more able to fully realize the many possibilities that come our way. We can use our knowledge to broaden our horizons, and have things like good relationships, a good job, etc. We have actual, hard examples of being effective thanks, in large part, to what we know and applying that knowledge.

But there are many people who feel there is "more out there," and do not have the knowledge to achieve more in their lives. They may not be able to read, but know that so many keys to knowledge lie in the written word. They may want to have a happy family life, but lack the social skills necessary to work things out with other people. This creates a cycle of unhappiness that can be hard to overcome. There are practical steps people can take, like looking for a friend, mentor, or teacher, that will assist their desire to learn. For many, unhappiness can be turned around by someone caring enough to share what they know...so knowledge is good; sharing it is even better. .........

a thirst for knowledge is good as it is the first step to success but acting upon knowledge is the most important step. if someone knows what they must do to succeed in life but are to afraid to take action then thats when knowledge brings unhappiness.......

Sara ........

Sara Sara Sara Sara......

My life is for you
And no one other than you
And no one other than you
I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love as time runs through my
hand
Sweet desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more
than this
Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume, is the sweet intoxication
of the fall
